Here we go!

MN Airport!
A graduation trip. Seriously. In Italy. Land of everything I crave...yes the food and vino. I have much to learn. We left MN a bit early, and yes probably because we were excited. Thanks for the ride Ant :)

Flight of Bubbles
And since we were early, it was important to go over the itinerary and prepare ourselves for the flight...of bubbles. Mom had one glass, I had three smallies. It was bound to be a fantastic trip.

Tired but smiling!

Where we are! (we're A)

So we're finally here, Rome, Roma, it was a pleasant but long plane ride.
"I was worried that there were going to be snaffous galore in Amsterdam" Mom said. Truly we had great travel mates, except for our last deplaning adventure where this adorably traumatized little Dutch child screamed bloody murder from the time we landed to actually getting our overhead carry-ons and queuing out of the plane.

We were greeted at the Rome airport by our pre-arranged driver who candidly waved the Schneeman sign outside of the baggage claim. An interesting ride, not crazy like the taxis are supposed to be, but definitely got a tour of graffiti.

Yay we have internet! And we can blog!

So its 6pm ish here in Rome, around 11am back in Minnesota. We were able to touch base with Dad where he told us he was going to work a lot while we're gone so we can pay for this trip. Yes Dad, we are so incredibly grateful-- We'll make good use of your hard work!

Our lovely landlord Rita greeted us with great gusto and a bottle of champaign, emphasizing to HAVE FUN! And gosh, we're planning on it...after we catch up on our sleep. Looking forward to getting to see her again, we're planning on a beach day and a lovely afternoon or something. We're just going to be easy and play things by ear. Rita's website is customizeditaly.com and she is exactly what us roman-ignoramus travelers need! So our plan is to do a hop on, hop off tour tomorrow, checking out Campo Di Fiori and just to start walking.
Aw, looking forward to the next ten days.

Todays the Republic day? So nothing is really open, but of course as Rita says, Romans take any and all opportunity to take a holiday.
Ciao!

And so we begin our Roman Holiday!
